Lindsay is an award-winning independent magazine celebrating the importance of different cultures and places around the world. It was founded by Beth Wilkinson and is created in collaboration with writers, photographers and artists from around the globe. It is designed and published by Oak Park Studio, a creative practice led by Beth, which is renowned for its artisanal approach to branding, print media, creative direction, publishing, photography and web.
The title is named after Beth’s grandfather (Lindsay James Stanger), who was a self-taught photographer with an incredible curiosity for learning about the world and a love for documenting it. Lindsay brings together diverse voices with a curious, open-minded approach to producing thoughtful and borderless editorial content that helps readers around the world learn about the rest of the world.
Since launching, Lindsay has garnered readers in over 180 countries. Its printed publication is now available in the best museum stores, bookshops and concept spaces around the globe, including Tate Modern (London), The Whitney (New York City), Gucci Garden (Florence), Yvon Lambert (Paris), Daikanyama T-Site (Tokyo) and MCA (Sydney), just to name a few. It has hosted an extensive array of international events—from an artist talk at Maryam Nassire Zadeh in New York City to a couture gala at Melbourne’s Windsor Hotel to a celebration of artisan textiles in Ecuador—and has received great acclaim in the media.
Lindsay was founded in Melbourne, Australia, on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respect to their ancestors and elders—past, present and future—and value the role of storytelling in their culture, which is amongst the oldest living cultures in the world.
