Lindsay is an independent, self-published magazine run by its founder Beth Wilkinson. In its first year on sale the magazine has received international acclaim. It has produced events at Alpha60, Heide Museum of Modern Art, McNally Jackson (New York) and ACMI. It has profiled interviews with Oscar-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, NASA astronaut Stephanie Wilson and Italian director Luca Guadagnino, and is now stocked in over twenty countries in stores such as Gucci Garden (Florence), Ofr. (Paris), MoMA (New York), MoCA (Los Angeles), Daikanyama T-site (Tokyo), Kubrick (Hong Kong) and MCA (Sydney).
Having grown exponentially over this past year, Lindsay is now seeking an editorial assistant to help propel the magazine into this next stage.
The successful candidate will be someone who is ambitious and highly organised with exceptional writing and editing skills. Working in a small team, the role will be agile and involve a mix of administrative and editorial responsibilities. It is imperative that the successful candidate understands Lindsay’s brand and ethos and appreciates its considered editorial approach and aesthetic sensibility. We are looking for an avid reader who is interested in print media and curious about the world. They need to understand and be across the local and international cultural landscape.
This is a rare opportunity to gain insight into, and be a part of, a young publishing start-up going through an exciting period of growth. The role is suited to someone wishing to gain editorial experience and immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of an independent magazine.
This role is 0.4 (2 days per week) fixed term (12 months), with the view of becoming long term.
Applications for this position have now closed. All applicants will be contacted by 24 December, 2018.
